Ngcobo Finds New Home? Ex-Chiefs Star Spotted Training With Chippa!

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Njabulo Ngcobo is reportedly training with Chippa United after his departure from Sekhukhune United. Sources at iDiski Times indicate that Ngcobo is participating in Chippa's pre-season training camp in Johannesburg, hoping to secure a contract with the Chilli Boys.

The 31-year-old, who previously won the Defender of the Season award during his impressive stint with Swallows FC in 2020/21, is looking to revive his career after a less successful period with Sekhukhune. He joined Chiefs after his stellar season with Swallows, making 45 appearances for Amakhosi over three seasons before moving to Babina Noko on a free transfer.

However, Ngcobo's time at Sekhukhune was short-lived, with limited playing time despite the team's busy schedule across multiple competitions. He only managed to accumulate 470 minutes on the pitch, leading to his eventual departure.

Chippa United's new technical team, led by Sinethemba Badela, will be assessing Ngcobo's fitness and performance during the pre-season training. His experience and past accolades could make him a valuable addition to the Chilli Boys' squad, but he'll need to impress the coaching staff to earn a permanent spot.

What's Next for Ngcobo?

The coming weeks will be crucial for Njabulo Ngcobo as he aims to prove his worth to Chippa United. A successful trial could provide him with a fresh start and an opportunity to showcase his defensive skills in the DStv Premiership once again.
