Tebogo Thobejane Case: Fifth Suspect Arrested! What You Need To Know!

The attempted murder case of South African actress Tebogo Thobejane has taken another turn with a fifth suspect now in custody. Nthabiseng Nzama appeared in the Alexandra magistrates’ court on Monday, facing allegations of facilitating fund transfers related to the crime. The National Prosecution Authority (NPA) reports that Nzama allegedly knew the funds originated from illicit activities.

Nzama was granted bail of R10,000 and is scheduled to reappear in court on August 26th, joining her co-accused in the case. This development marks a significant step forward in the investigation, as authorities continue to piece together the events surrounding the attempted murder.

In a separate but related case, Michael Pule Tau, Katiso Molefe, Tiego Floyd Mabusela, and Musa Kekana also made their first appearance at the Alexandra Magistrates’ court. These individuals are accused of the November 2022 murder of Oupa John Sefoka, known to many as DJ Sumbody, which occurred in Woodmead, Johannesburg.

Interestingly, Mabusela and Kekana were already in custody concerning the attempted murder of Tebogo Thobejane when they were linked to the DJ Sumbody case. This connection suggests a potential network of individuals involved in multiple criminal activities.

“The accused were arrested following allegations that they’re hitmen, one of them allegedly ordering the murder of Sefoka during the commission of the offences…the case was postponed to 29 July 2025 to allow the state time to profile the accused who has applied for bail,” stated Gauteng NPA Spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane.
