Czechia is embarking on a bold mission to redefine its global image with a new initiative titled “Good Morning, Czechia!” Led by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with Czech Centers, this campaign aims to create a unified and compelling national narrative.
Unveiling a New National Story
The project hinges on gathering insights from Czech citizens themselves. Through a simple online survey, individuals are invited to share their perspectives on what they want the world to associate with Czechia and what aspects of their country make them most proud. This citizen-centric approach seeks to build a national identity that resonates both domestically and internationally.
Addressing Global Perceptions
A recent survey by the House of Foreign Cooperation highlighted the diverse and sometimes inconsistent perceptions of Czechia around the world. While some nations view it as part of Eastern Europe, others see it as Western. This lack of a unified image presents a challenge for the country's efforts to promote itself effectively.
Standardizing the Visual Identity
To address this, the government is also standardizing the visual identity of state institutions. A shared logo will soon be introduced across ministries and agencies, creating a cohesive and recognizable brand for Czechia. Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský stated that the graphic manual will be presented by the end of the year, with full adoption by all institutions expected by April next year.
- Data collection from citizens
- Development of a comprehensive communication strategy
- Standardization of visual identity
Lipavský emphasized that “Good Morning, Czechia!” is more than just a PR stunt. It reflects a growing understanding of the importance of national branding in a globalized world. A strong national brand can attract tourists and investors, while also shaping diplomatic, cultural, and economic influence.
