Manchester United forward Antony has officially rejoined Real Betis on a permanent transfer. The move, finalized on deadline day, sees the Brazilian winger return to the La Liga club after a successful loan spell. Betis fans greeted Antony with a massive welcome upon his arrival in Spain.
Antony's Move Details
The deal is reportedly worth €22 million (£19.06m) with a further €3 million (£2.59m) in potential add-ons. Manchester United have also included a 50% sell-on clause in the agreement. Antony initially cost United £81.3m when he signed from Ajax in 2022.
Hojlund Joins Napoli on Loan
In other Manchester United transfer news, Rasmus Hojlund has joined Italian champions Napoli on a season-long loan. The deal includes an obligation to buy clause, meaning Hojlund will permanently transfer to Napoli next summer for £38 million.
Both Antony and Hojlund struggled to find consistent form at Old Trafford, leading to their departures. Manager Ruben Amorim deemed them surplus to requirements as the club revamped its attacking options with the signings of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo.
A Fresh Start for Antony
Antony will be hoping to recapture the form he showed during his previous loan spell at Real Betis, where he scored nine goals in 26 matches and helped the team reach the Uefa Conference League final. The Brazilian winger has signed a five-year contract with the Spanish club and will be eager to impress the Betis faithful once again. The club's supporters have already shown their appreciation, swarming his car and celebrating his return as if he were the 'GOAT' (Greatest Of All Time).
Manchester United will be hoping that the departures of Antony and Hojlund will free up space and resources for new signings in future transfer windows.
