Percy Tau Shocker! Bafana Star Joins Vietnamese Champs!

Bafana Bafana vice-captain Percy Tau has made a surprising move, signing with Vietnamese champions Nam Dinh FC. After months as a free agent, the 31-year-old winger is set to embark on a new chapter in his career.

Tau, who previously played for Qatar SC in the Qatar Stars League on a short-term deal, made 10 appearances and provided four assists, helping the club avoid relegation. Prior to his move to Vietnam, there was reported interest from Egyptian giants Zamalek SC, a Moroccan club, and even Kaizer Chiefs. However, a deal never materialized.

Now, Tau has signed a one-year deal with an option to extend for another 12 months with Nam Dinh FC, a three-time Vietnamese champion. He will be joining fellow South African, former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Njabulo Blom, at the club. Blom completed his move last month after a loan spell.

Nam Dinh FC will be relying on the experience of both Tau and Blom as they prepare to compete in the Asian Champions League, having secured their spot by winning the league title with a significant lead over their competitors. The team, who were promoted to the elite league in 2017, are looking to make a strong impression on the continental stage.

What this means for Percy Tau

This move represents a fresh start for Percy Tau, allowing him to showcase his talents in a new environment and contribute to a team with ambitions of success in both domestic and international competitions.

A boost for Nam Dinh FC

The arrival of Percy Tau and Njabulo Blom will undoubtedly bolster Nam Dinh FC's squad, adding quality and experience as they prepare for a challenging season ahead, including their participation in the Asian Champions League.
