Al Ahly Boss Riveiro's Ultimatum: Play by My Rules or You're OUT!

Al Ahly head coach Jose Riveiro has laid down the law ahead of the new Egyptian Premier League season. The former Orlando Pirates boss has made it crystal clear to his players: follow his instructions to the letter, both on and off the field, or face being sidelined.

Riveiro's Zero Tolerance Policy

With Al Ahly, the reigning 44-time league champions, preparing to defend their title against Modern Sport, Riveiro reportedly held a meeting with his squad, emphasizing the importance of unwavering commitment to his tactics. According to Ahly News, Riveiro stated that there would be no room for favoritism or big names; performance and adherence to his instructions would be the sole criteria for selection.

"There is no place for names, and no room for favouritism," Riveiro declared. "Whoever proves himself in training and matches will get the chance; whoever disobeys instructions will have no role in the team."

Intense Pre-Season Preparations

Riveiro's tough stance comes after intense pre-season preparations, including a training camp in Tunisia and friendly matches against Egypt’s U20 national team and Petrojet. The team has been focusing on gym workouts and tactical drills to fine-tune their performance ahead of the season opener.

Focus on Tactical Discipline

Ribeiro has been actively involved in outlining the training schedule and emphasizing the technical elements he wants to implement during ball exercises. The focus is on ensuring that every player understands and executes his tactical vision effectively.

Al Ahly will be looking to improve on their performance at the FIFA Club World Cup, where they were eliminated in the group stage. Riveiro is determined to start the season strongly and maintain Al Ahly's dominance in the Egyptian Premier League.
