Catherine Zeta-Jones, the iconic Morticia Addams, is back for Season 2 of Netflix's hit show 'Wednesday', and she's not holding back! In a recent interview, Zeta-Jones jokingly declared herself the superior sword fighter compared to her co-star, Jenna Ortega, who plays Wednesday Addams.
Zeta-Jones, known for her roles in 'The Mask of Zorro' and 'The Legend of Zorro', boasts some serious sword-fighting credentials. “Look, I’m older than her, and I did two Zorros, and I’m going to flag it me,” she quipped to CNN News Central, apologising to the 22-year-old Ortega.
Season 2 promises even more dark humour and supernatural thrills. Ortega herself teased that the new season is “darker, bigger, better,” with Netflix giving the creators more trust after the incredible reaction to the first season. The mother-daughter dynamic between Morticia and Wednesday will be further explored, with a literal sword fight adding a physical dimension to their contentious relationship.
“The fencing sequence where we just tried to end each other for a good, like, five minutes, it was such a dance that we had to do,” Ortega mentioned, highlighting it as one of her favourite parts of the show.
New Faces at Nevermore Academy
This season also welcomes some exciting new cast members. Steve Buscemi joins as Principal Barry Dort, and Christopher Lloyd, the legendary Uncle Fester from the 1991 'Addams Family' movie, will play the longest-serving professor at Nevermore Academy. These additions are sure to add even more depth and intrigue to the already captivating world of 'Wednesday'.
What to Expect in Season 2
- Darker storylines and more supernatural elements.
- Intense mother-daughter dynamics between Morticia and Wednesday.
- New characters and mysteries at Nevermore Academy.
