'The General' Returns: Nengomasha to Grace Moses Mabhida Stadium!
Kaizer Chiefs fans are in for a treat! Tinashe Nengomasha, arguably the best defensive midfielder to ever wear the Amakhosi colours in the PSL era, is set to make a rare appearance for the Chiefs Legends this weekend. He will be playing in the curtain raiser for the Toyota Cup at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
Nengomasha, affectionately known as 'The General', enjoyed a trophy-laden spell with Chiefs from 2001 to 2012, winning every major honour in South African football. His contributions to the club are legendary, having made over 300 appearances and consistently dominating the midfield.
He claimed individual accolades like KICK OFF Footballer of the Season, PSL Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season. With Kaizer Chiefs he won the league title, Coca-Cola Cup, ABSA Cup, SAA Supa8/MTN8, and the Telkom KnockOut.
Before hanging up his boots, Nengomasha also played for Bidvest Wits and Mpumalanga Black Aces, further cementing his legacy as a PSL icon. His impact on the game is still felt today, with many considering him the benchmark for defensive midfielders in South Africa.
Currently, Nengomasha serves as team manager at Zimbabwean club Ngezi Platinum, where he has already tasted league success. Don't miss this chance to witness a true legend back on the pitch as the Chiefs Legends take on their KwaZulu-Natal counterparts. It's a nostalgic trip back to a golden era for Amakhosi!
