The FNB U18 Craven Week is here, showcasing South Africa's top schoolboy rugby talent! Hoërskool Middelburg in Mpumalanga is hosting the tournament, which kicked off on Monday, 7 July, and runs until Saturday, 12 July. This is the final event in SA Rugby's 2025 Youth Weeks programme, featuring 16 teams battling it out over five action-packed days.
Who to Watch?
Keep an eye out for the SA Schools and SA Schools 'A' team announcements at the tournament's conclusion. These teams will then face each other at Hoërskool Middelburg on Thursday, 17 July, before the U18 International Series in August. Exciting times for these young players!
Nine returning players who shone in last year’s SA Schools and SA U18 teams are back in their provincial squads. These include Josh Neill, Markus Muller, Briint Davids, and Jordan Jooste (all from Western Province), Ethan Adams and AJ Meyer (both from Free State), Zekhe Siyaya (KZN), André Poulton (Lions), and Joshua McKenzie (EP).
Monday's Fixtures: A Thrilling Start
The tournament kicked off with eight teams in action on Monday. Western Province XV faced the Griffons in the opening match, followed by Free State versus South Western Districts. The opening ceremony took place at 14h00, followed by a clash between the host team, the Hollywood Foundation Pumas, and the Limpopo Blue Bulls.
Tuesday's Line-Up: More Rugby Action
Tuesday saw DHL Western Province, who were unbeaten in last year’s tournament, take to the field along with the Leopards, Valke, Border, Suzuki Griquas, Sharks High Schools, Eastern Province, and Sanlam Boland.
