Wimbledon Watch: Can Djokovic Still Win on Grass?

Novak Djokovic's French Open dream ended earlier than expected, raising questions about his future Grand Slam prospects. After a disappointing defeat at Roland Garros, tennis fans are already looking ahead to Wimbledon, wondering if the grass courts of London offer a better chance for the Serbian legend to add to his trophy cabinet.

Can Djokovic Conquer Wimbledon?

Former tennis pro Sam Querrey suggests Djokovic's path to another Grand Slam title isn't straightforward. He believes Djokovic faces a tough challenge if he has to overcome both Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner in a major tournament. Querrey stated, "I don’t think Novak [Djokovic] can win a Major if he has to beat Carlos [Alcaraz] and [Jannik] Sinner." He thinks Djokovic's best chance lies in one of those players being upset earlier in the competition.

Grass Court Advantage?

However, Djokovic himself remains optimistic about his chances at Wimbledon. He recently told Serbian media that grass courts favour his game. "The transition from clay to grass is not easy, so I will take my time to rest and prepare well. Grass courts favor my tennis, I feel very good, and my good results there give me great confidence. I believe I have more chances to win on grass than on hard courts," Djokovic said.

Another former player, Jack Sock, agrees that Wimbledon could suit Djokovic's game. He believes the shorter points on grass will benefit Djokovic, allowing him to be more aggressive from the baseline. Whether Djokovic can recapture his Wimbledon magic remains to be seen, but the tennis world will be watching closely.
