Thriller in Seattle! Galaxy Draw with Sounders After Late Drama!

Seattle – Miki Yamane etched his name into MLS history, scoring his debut goal in the 87th minute, as the LA Galaxy salvaged a 2-2 draw against the Seattle Sounders on Saturday night. The match, filled with twists and turns, kept fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

Yamane’s goal, a sliding first-time shot into an unguarded net, capped off a thrilling encounter. Galaxy goalkeeper Novak Micovic was instrumental in keeping his team in the game, making seven crucial saves.

The Sounders started strong, with Jesús Ferreira opening the scoring in the 5th minute. Danny Musovski extended their lead in the 41st minute, putting Seattle ahead 2-0. However, the Galaxy responded swiftly. Maya Yoshida redirected a Diego Fagúndez cross into the net in the 44th minute, reducing the deficit just before halftime.

Seattle's Stefan Frei, returning to the lineup, recorded four saves. The match marked the third meeting between Seattle and LA in just over a month. Seattle had previously defeated the Galaxy 4-0 in MLS play and 2-0 in the Leagues Cup Semifinals.

The Sounders were coming off a momentous 3-0 victory over Inter Miami CF in the Leagues Cup 2025 Final, securing their first Leagues Cup title. Musovski, Kalani Kossa-Rienzi and Stefan Frei replaced Osaze De Rosario, Pedro de la Vega and Andrew Thomas in the starting lineup. De Rosario, Alex Roldan, and Paul Rothrock were the goal scorers in the final.
