Comrades Marathon 2025: Everything You Need to Know!

Howzit, Mzansi! Get ready for the 98th Comrades Marathon, the Ultimate Human Race! This year's Down Run promises to be epic, starting in Pietermaritzburg and finishing in Durban.

Comrades 2025: The Lowdown

Mark your calendars! The race is on Sunday, 8 June 2025. This year's course will be approximately 89.98km. The race kicks off from Pietermaritzburg City Hall and the finish line is outside Durban’s People’s Park. Shoo, it's going to be a tough one!

Here's what you need to know:

  • Start Times: Group 1 (batches A-J) starts at 5:45am, Group 2 (batches K-S) at 6:00am. Don't be late, or you'll miss the bus!
  • The Route: This year, the finish line has been moved to a street finish outside People's Park on Masabalala Yengwa Avenue. Get ready for a grandstand finish!
  • Distance: A challenging 89.98km – slightly longer than the 2023 Down Run.
