Selma Community Reeling After Murder-Suicide
The Selma community is in mourning after a devastating domestic violence incident over the Labor Day weekend. Authorities were called to a house on Old Marion Junction Road on Saturday, where they discovered two deceased individuals. District Attorney Robert Turner, Jr. confirmed that the incident appears to be a murder-suicide.
"There won't be criminal charges filed because of the fact that both parties on the scene were deceased. And it appears as if it were a murder-suicide," Turner stated. He emphasized the seriousness of domestic violence, urging the community to never take it lightly.
Montgomery Woman Arrested for Shooting into Occupied Home
In a separate incident, a 20-year-old Montgomery woman, Isabella Hosea, has been arrested and charged with firing a gun into an occupied dwelling. The incident occurred on Saturday morning in the 3100 block of Fredricksburg Drive.
Court filings reveal that a bullet struck the victim's home, hitting the window of an occupied bedroom where children were present. The bullet then traveled into an adjacent room, causing damage to the window and walls. Thankfully, no one was injured in the shooting.
Hosea is charged with Discharging a Gun into an Occupied Building/Vehicle and is currently held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility on a $30,000 bond. The motive for the shooting remains unclear.
These incidents serve as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by communities worldwide in addressing domestic violence and gun crime. It's crucial to raise awareness, provide support to victims, and work towards safer communities for all.
