Leeds United: Star Return & Cancer Awareness Drive!

Leeds United: A Week of Highs and Lows

This week sees Leeds United balancing on and off-field commitments, with potential player comebacks and vital charity work taking centre stage. Let's dive into the latest developments at Elland Road.

Phillips Return? A Possible Homecoming

Rumours are swirling about a possible return for Kalvin Phillips. After a challenging spell at Manchester City, the midfielder could be heading back to his Yorkshire roots. Leeds United News reports that the club is facing an injury crisis in midfield, with Ao Tanaka and Ethan Ampadu sidelined with knee injuries. This leaves the squad thin, creating a potential opening for Phillips.

Journalist Graeme Bailey suggests that Man City might even be willing to pay off part of Phillips' contract to facilitate a move. While his £140,000-a-week wages could be a stumbling block, a return to Leeds, where he made his name, could be exactly what Phillips needs to revive his career. He is familiar with the club and the supporters, and this could mean a good fit.

Dedicated to Cancer Awareness

Beyond the transfer speculation, Leeds United is dedicating their Premier League fixture against Newcastle United to the Bradley Lowery Foundation’s ‘Cancer Has No Colours’ campaign. This initiative aims to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research. The foundation supports families fundraising for treatment and equipment not readily available, as well as research into neuroblastoma and other childhood cancers.

The club will also be welcoming the family of Bob, a young fan who tragically lost his battle with cancer. Bob will be remembered as a special part of the Leeds United family.
