Bafana Squad Revealed! Who Made the Cut for World Cup Qualifiers?

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has unveiled his squad for the crucial upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Nigeria. The announcement follows a preliminary squad selection marred by injury concerns, most notably the absence of Mamelodi Sundowns captain Themba Zwane, sidelined for an estimated two months.

With Zwane and Nkosinathi Sibisi out of contention due to injury, Broos has finalized his 23-man squad, blending experienced players with exciting emerging talents.

New Faces Get Their Chance

Orlando Pirates' in-form winger Kamogelo Sebelebele and Kaizer Chiefs attacker Mduduzi Shabalala have earned their spots in the squad. Sebelebele's impressive start at Pirates has positioned him as a potential key player on the right flank for Bafana Bafana.

Shabalala, who previously featured in the Cosafa Cup, has impressed with his early-season form, securing his place in the main squad. This presents a golden opportunity for him to showcase his abilities ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Notable Absences

Despite their club form, several Sundowns players, including Khuliso Mudau, Thapelo Morena, Jayden Adams, and Fawaaz Basadien, have been left out of the squad.

Bafana Bafana currently lead Group C in the qualifiers with 13 points, boasting an impressive record of four wins and one draw in six matches.
