Thornton, who earned a Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of a crisis manager in the oil industry, will continue to be a central figure.

Season 1 of 'Landman' set records for Paramount+, attracting 35 million global streaming viewers and becoming the streamer’s most-watched original series. Despite this success and Thornton's acclaimed performance, the show was surprisingly snubbed by the Emmys this year.
The series is co-created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, and is based on the 11-part podcast Boomtown from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly.
