Hulu App Shutting Down?! Here's How to Watch Your Favorite Shows!

Big changes are coming to the streaming world! Disney has announced that the standalone Hulu app will be phased out and fully integrated into Disney+ by 2026. This move aims to create a more unified streaming experience and potentially save the company billions of dollars.

What Does This Mean for Hulu Subscribers?

Don't panic! While the standalone Hulu app will disappear, subscribers will still be able to access Hulu content through the Disney+ app. Disney is planning a “unified” app that combines both services. According to a Disney representative, you’ll still be able to purchase standalone Hulu subscriptions, as well as standalone Disney+ plans. The combined service promises to offer an impressive package of entertainment, including general entertainment, family programming, news, and live sports.

Why Is Disney Making This Change?

Disney CEO Bob Iger and CFO Hugh Johnston believe that consolidating Hulu into Disney+ will create a more compelling offering for consumers. They stated that the merger will pair “the highest-caliber brands and franchises” into a single app. Disney also announced it will stop reporting quarterly subscriber numbers and ARPU for its streaming platforms, including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, starting in fiscal 2026, to focus more on streaming profitability.

What Shows Are Already on Disney+?

If you have a Disney+ and Hulu bundle, you may have already noticed some popular Hulu shows appearing on Disney+. Titles like Futurama, Abbott Elementary, and Grey’s Anatomy are already available to watch on Disney+.

What's Next?

The full integration is expected to take place in 2026. Until then, you can continue using the standalone Hulu app. Disney currently offers a bundle for both services for $10.99 per month, making it an affordable option for accessing a wide range of content.

King of the Hill Returns!

Adding to the excitement, the return of 'King of the Hill' on Hulu with season 14 picks up with Hank Hill returning from a decade-long stint living and working in Saudi Arabia.
