According to a Disney representative, you’ll still be able to purchase standalone Hulu subscriptions, as well as standalone Disney+ plans. The combined service promises to offer an impressive package of entertainment, including general entertainment, family programming, news, and live sports.
Why Is Disney Making This Change?
Disney CEO Bob Iger and CFO Hugh Johnston believe that consolidating Hulu into Disney+ will create a more compelling offering for consumers. They stated that the merger will pair “the highest-caliber brands and franchises” into a single app. Disney also announced it will stop reporting quarterly subscriber numbers and ARPU for its streaming platforms, including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, starting in fiscal 2026, to focus more on streaming profitability.
What Shows Are Already on Disney+?
If you have a Disney+ and Hulu bundle, you may have already noticed some popular Hulu shows appearing on Disney+. Titles like Futurama, Abbott Elementary, and Grey’s Anatomy are already available to watch on Disney+.
