Reality TV star Jax Taylor has announced he will not be returning for Season 3 of Bravo's 'The Valley.' The news comes as Season 2 of the show is currently airing, with the finale set to air on July 22nd, followed by reunion episodes.
Jax Taylor's Statement
In a statement released through his team, Taylor cited his focus on sobriety, mental health, and co-parenting as the primary reasons for his departure. "After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of ‘The Valley,’" Taylor stated. "Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz.”
A Challenging Year
The past year has been particularly difficult for Taylor. He publicly revealed a long-term struggle with cocaine addiction and has been navigating a divorce from his 'The Valley' co-star, Brittany Cartwright. The couple, who also appeared on 'Vanderpump Rules,' have a 4-year-old son, Cruz.
Season 2 Drama
Season 2 of 'The Valley' has chronicled the ups and downs of Taylor and Cartwright's relationship, including their separation and eventual divorce filing. Executive producer Alex Baskin previously commented on the challenges of telling the story responsibly and fairly, acknowledging the complexities of navigating Taylor's personal struggles while maintaining an engaging and real narrative for viewers.
- Taylor entered rehab for mental health issues during the filming of Season 2.
- Cartwright officially filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
- The season finale promises to address many of the issues faced by the cast.
Taylor will appear at 'The Valley' Season 2 reunion, filmed in May 2025, where he is expected to address the season's events. He told BravoTV.com that he wore a State & Liberty suit to the sit-down.
