Bam Margera, the iconic skater and star of MTV's Jackass, is back in the spotlight and back on his board! After a decade-long hiatus, Margera is making a triumphant return to the world of skateboarding, thanks to a chance encounter with none other than Tony Hawk himself.

From Hiatus to Hollywood: Bam's Journey Back to the Board

Margera, who rose to fame 25 years ago, recently revealed that he hadn't skated in a decade. He openly discussed his struggles with personal demons, including alcoholism and the side effects of medications that led to weight gain and other health issues. "I really had to change my ways," Margera explained. "It was more frustrating than pleasurable even to try to skate."

The turning point came when Margera found himself in Los Angeles and reconnected with Tony Hawk. "I grabbed my skateboard, put on some knee pads, and we wound up ollieing over each other on the big channel," Margera said. Hawk was impressed by Margera's progress, leading to a phone call to Activision and a last-minute addition to the roster of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4.

The Power of Support: How a Stretch Coach Helped Bam Reclaim His Passion

Margera credits his wife, Dannii Marie, a stretch coach, as the biggest catalyst for his recovery. "I married a stretch coach who we stretch an hour a day, and my legs are like completely 100 % again," he said. "And now my passion is back to skate."

Since regaining his passion, Margera has been diligently documenting his progress, sharing his journey with fans on social media. "So I wake up every day, get a trick on film. A trick a day keeps the sanity sane," he said. "And you know, when you do what you love and skateboarding has got me to where I am today, to be able to do that again is a true blessing."
