Billy Corgan & Rock Legends Unite! Epic Supergroup Rocks Black Sabbath Gig!

The "Back To The Beginning" Black Sabbath celebration was full of surprises! Beyond the standard performances from bands like Alice In Chains and Gojira, the event featured not one, but *two* supergroups, plus a wild drum-off.

Epic Drum-Off Kicks Off the Night

Before the supergroups took the stage, a star-studded drum-off electrified the crowd. Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Danny Carey (Tool), and Travis Barker (blink-182) battled it out behind the kit, showcasing their incredible skills.

First Supergroup Draws Mixed Reactions

The first supergroup to perform received a mixed reception. Fronted by Lzzy Hale (Halestorm) and David Draiman (Disturbed), the group also featured Mike Bordin (Faith No More), David Ellefson (ex-Megadeth), and Jake E. Lee (ex-Ozzy Osbourne). Draiman's presence, in particular, drew boos from some members of the audience due to his controversial political opinions. Despite the mixed reaction, they powered through renditions of Ozzy Osbourne classics like "The Ultimate Sin" and "Shot In The Dark," along with Black Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf," also featuring Ugly Kid Joe’s Whitfield Crane and Yungblud.

Corgan's Supergroup Delivers Rock Anthems

The *second* supergroup boasted an even more impressive lineup: Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins), K.K. Downing (Judas Priest), Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine), Adam Jones (Tool), and Danny Carey (Tool). They delivered a setlist packed with iconic tracks from Judas Priest, Aerosmith, and Ozzy Osbourne.

Setlist Highlights:

  • "Breaking the Law" (Judas Priest cover)
  • "Walk This Way" (Aerosmith cover)
  • "Flying High Again" (Ozzy Osbourne cover)

Pantera also performed, adding to the night's metal mayhem with tracks like "Cowboys From Hell." A massive jam session featuring members of both supergroups, as well as Nuno Bettencourt, Rudy Sarzo, and others, closed out the night with a blistering rendition of Black Sabbath's "Symptom of the Universe."
