Rehab Addict's Nicole Curtis: Shocking Setback & Triumphant Return!

Nicole Curtis' 'Rehab Addict' Returns After 3-Year Hiatus

Nicole Curtis, the beloved star of HGTV's "Rehab Addict," is back on our screens after a nearly three-year absence. The new season, premiering June 24th, marks her return to the show since 2018 (excluding the spinoff "Rehab Addict Lake House Rescue" in 2022). But behind the scenes, Curtis has faced personal challenges that have profoundly impacted her life and career.

In a revealing interview, Curtis shared that she experienced a significant "setback" that shook her to her core. While she remains private about the specifics, she emphasized that this experience forced her to re-evaluate her priorities. "I had a setback in my life that just rocked me to the core, and it was one of those moments where I thought, how do I get through this one?" she stated.

This period of reflection led to a spontaneous decision to travel in 2022, which took an unexpected turn when she realized she'd left her wallet behind. Stranded in Paris with only $72, Curtis saw the situation as a sign and impulsively purchased a house in Wyoming sight unseen. This 1890s property, described as a "bad flip," will be featured in the upcoming season of "Rehab Addict."

The new season will also feature a project closer to home: a 1928 house in Detroit. Curtis, a passionate advocate for historic preservation, aims to restore the property rather than gutting and flipping it. This aligns with her overall philosophy of honoring the history and character of old homes.

Curtis Takes Aim at Detroit Developers

Beyond her own projects, Curtis is also speaking out against developers who she believes are harming Detroit's architectural heritage by flipping historic homes. She emphasizes the importance of restoration over demolition and modernization, a theme that resonates throughout her work.

  • Working on a 1928 structure in Detroit.
