Spider-Man Swings Into Magic: The Gathering! New Cards & Decks REVEALED!

Get ready, true believers! Spider-Man is officially web-slinging his way into the world of Magic: The Gathering! Wizards of the Coast has teamed up with Marvel to create a crossover that's sure to excite both comic book fans and card game enthusiasts alike. This collaboration introduces a range of new cards and Welcome Decks featuring everyone's favorite wall-crawler.

Welcome Decks: Your Gateway to Magic

For those new to Magic: The Gathering, the Spider-Man Welcome Decks are the perfect starting point. Each deck is designed to be approachable and engaging, making it easy to learn the basics of the game. There are five different Welcome Decks, each representing a different color of Magic: White, Blue, Black, Red, and Green. Each box contains two 30-card decks: one in the indicated color, and the other a random color from the remaining four.

These decks include cards from the main Spider-Man set (SPM), which will be legal in Standard play upon release. Additionally, there are new cards specifically designed for beginners, identified by the SPE set code. These SPE cards, while not legal in Standard, can also be found in foil versions within the Collector Boosters.

Exclusive Card Reveals: Spider-Verse Unite!

San Diego Comic-Con 2025 brought an exclusive sneak peek at five new Spider-Man cards that will be part of the Standard-legal set. These aren't just any Spider-Men; they're different versions of the web-slinger from across the Spider-Verse! The revealed cards showcase:

  • Spider-Man Noir (Uncommon)
  • SP//dr (Uncommon)
  • Spider-Man 2099 (Rare)
  • Spider-Ham (Rare)
  • Peter Parker / The Amazing Spider-Man (Mythic Rare)

The Origin of Spider-Man: A Powerful New Saga

The first main set Spider-Man card has been revealed: The Origin of Spider-Man. This two-mana saga creates a 3/2 creature with temporary Double Strike, offering flexibility and strategic depth. While thematically interesting, the card's power lies in its versatility, allowing players to buff other creatures and create powerful combinations. It seems like a strong addition to Standard decks, especially in Mono-White Aggro or Yuna, Hope of Spira decks.

Whether you're a seasoned Magic player or a Spider-Man superfan, this crossover promises exciting gameplay and stunning artwork. Be sure to check your local game store for the Welcome Decks and keep an eye out for the full set release!
