Charlene Douglas, a familiar face from Married At First Sight UK, recently experienced an unexpected health scare that landed her in the hospital. The relationship guru, who is set to appear in the upcoming series of MAFS UK, shared details of her ordeal on social media, leaving fans sending well wishes and support.
Notting Hill Carnival Plans Derailed
Douglas had planned to represent her island, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, at the vibrant Notting Hill Carnival. However, her plans were abruptly halted when she became unwell. She posted a photo on Instagram showing herself in a hospital wheelchair with a drip attached, captioning it: "When you had plans to represent your island at Notting Hill carnival and 'wuk your waistline' this weekend. But your body had other plans!"
While Charlene kept the specific reason for her hospitalisation private, she did mention suffering from low iron levels in a later post. She also expressed her gratitude to the NHS England for their care during her emergency.
An Outpouring of Support
Fans and fellow stars were quick to offer their support and well wishes. Comments flooded her Instagram, with messages like "Sending strength and a full recovery" and "Wishing you a quick recovery."
This news comes shortly after another MAFS alumna, Rozz Darlington, celebrated the arrival of her baby daughter. Darlington, who had an unsuccessful romantic journey on the show, found love elsewhere and is now in a relationship with Jordan Morris.
Charlene Douglas's health scare serves as a reminder that even amidst exciting career ventures and social events, taking care of one's health remains paramount. We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her back on our screens soon.
Update: Charlene is now recovering and has thanked everyone for their support. She is expected to make a full recovery.
