WAEC Apologizes for WASSCE 2025 Grading Error, Releases Revised Results

Eii Ghana! The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Nigeria dey beg pardon for some serious mistake dem make for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). Dem say dem find out say some grading discrepancies dey inside, wey affect how the students perform.

According to WAEC Nigeria Head, Dr. Amos Dangut, dem admit say dem make serious error for marking the serialised papers. This thing make the performance of the students no correct wey dem show. E dey very embarrassing for dem, according to Dr. Dangut. Dem use new security innovation wey dem dey call paper serialisation, but e cause wahala.

What Happened?

The problem be say dem use wrong answer keys to mark the English Language Objective Test (Paper 3). This happen because of wrongly assigned serialised code file. Other subjects wey this thing affect be Mathematics, Biology, and Economics. But Dr. Dangut talk say those wey use computer to write the exams no dey affected.

Revised Results

After dem correct the error, e show say 1,794,821 students (91.14%) get credit and above for at least five subjects (whether or not dem get English and Mathematics). WAEC dey beg all the students, parents, and the public for this big mistake. Dem dey promise say dem go make sure say this thing no go happen again.
