Ghanaian movie fans thronged the SG Mall in Kumasi for the premiere of Kwadwo Nkansah “Lilwin’s” latest movie, 'Ibrahim Traore'. The premiere was a massive success, with the cinema packed to capacity. The movie, which has been generating significant buzz online, lived up to expectations, providing moviegoers with an unforgettable experience.
Movie Premiere and Tribute to Daddy Lumba
Prior to the premiere, Lilwin organized a movie festival float to promote 'Ibrahim Traore' and to honour the late Ghanaian music legend, Daddy Lumba, whose passing was recently mourned across the nation.
Directed by Jackson K. Bentum, the film reportedly praises Burkina Faso President Captain Ibrahim Traore and is described as an action-packed adventure from start to finish. Lilwin himself stars in the film, portraying Captain Ibrahim Traore as a figure of strength and resilience.
Lilwin's Gratitude
“It is truly an honour to see fans gathered here to watch the movie and I really encouraged with the kind gesture. I want to thank all fans who have supported me and I motivated to give my best to the movie industry,” Lilwin stated. He spent around $500,000 to complete the film.
Dignitaries in Attendance
Several dignitaries attended the premiere, including Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister; Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, President of the Ghana Journalists Association; and actress Vivian Jill.
The next premiere of ‘Ibrahim Traore’ is scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Eusbette Cinema in Sunyani.
However, the premiere coincided with a candlelight vigil for Daddy Lumba, which led to some disappointment from Lil Win, who felt the timing was inconsiderate given the effort put into his movie. He expressed his feelings on social media.
Despite the clash, the success of the premiere highlights Lilwin's popularity and the anticipation surrounding his new film.
