Justice John Eugene Nyadu Nyanteh, wey preside over the court today (July 29), agree with the Deputy Attorney-General, Dr. Justice Srem Sai, say the documents wey dem dey request – bill of lading, port of entry – the accused already get am. So, the court no gree give order for the Attorney-General to provide am.
But the court tell the police investigators to give the defense all information wey dem get about the vehicle. This go help Adu-Boahene prepare ein defense for the trial. Adu-Boahene, ein wife Angela Adjei-Boateng, and two others, dem accuse dem of stealing GH¢49.1 million from the state. Dem say na deal to buy cybersecurity system for the country cause am.
Samuel Atta Akyea, Adu-Boahene ein lawyer, file the application so he go fit build defense against the allegation say ein client dey sell stolen cars wey he buy.
Meanwhile, Mildred Donkor, wey say she no need Mr. Atta Akyea ein service again, get new lawyer now. Mr. Nutifafa Nutsukpui announce say he be Mildred Donkor ein lawyer when dem call the case for hearing today.
Before Mr. Atta Akyea bring ein application make the A-G release the title documents to ein client, Mr. Nutsukpui beg the court make e give am chance to see copies of the applications wey dey ground and any response wey the Attorney General might don deliver. But the court no gree for that one, say Donkor no be illiterate.
The court explain say dem expect say she (Donkor) go fit understand the documents herself.
