Bryan Mbeumo: Why He Missed Man United vs. West Ham Match

Ghanafoɔ, mo! Manchester United fans in Ghana were eager to see new signing Bryan Mbeumo in action against West Ham, but he wasn't in the squad. Why so?

Mbeumo's Late Arrival: The Reason Behind His Absence

Bryan Mbeumo, the £71 million signing from Brentford, traveled with the Manchester United squad to the MetLife Stadium for their pre-season tour game against West Ham. However, the 25-year-old did not make the matchday line-up.

The reason? Mbeumo's late arrival from Brentford. Brentford's pre-season started a week later than Manchester United's, and Mbeumo is not yet considered fully match-fit. Coach Ruben Amorim opted for a stronger side compared to their previous goalless draw with Leeds United.

Other Team News

Besides Mbeumo's absence, Noussair Mazraoui was also out with a knock. Altay Bayindir started in goal due to Andre Onana's injury. Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven joined Matthijs de Ligt in the back three.

The starting lineup featured Amad and Patrick Dorgu on the wings, with Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte in midfield. Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha played behind striker Rasmus Hojlund.

Looking Ahead

While Mbeumo's absence was disappointing, fans can expect to see him in action soon as he gains match fitness during the pre-season tour. Stay tuned for more updates on Manchester United's pre-season preparations!
