Bryan Mbeumo, the £71 million signing from Brentford, traveled with the Manchester United squad to the MetLife Stadium for their pre-season tour game against West Ham. However, the 25-year-old did not make the matchday line-up.
The reason? Mbeumo's late arrival from Brentford. Brentford's pre-season started a week later than Manchester United's, and Mbeumo is not yet considered fully match-fit. Coach Ruben Amorim opted for a stronger side compared to their previous goalless draw with Leeds United.
