Air India Crash Investigation Continues

The investigation into the Air India Boeing Dreamliner crash last week in Ahmedabad is ongoing. According to the Wall Street Journal, investigators are focusing on the emergency power generator, known as the Ram Air Turbine. This system is designed to provide electricity and hydraulic pressure in case of engine failure. Boeing has deferred comment to India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, and GE Aerospace has not responded to requests for comment.

Navigational Error Blamed for Oil Tanker Collision

The United Arab Emirates' energy ministry has stated that a navigational misjudgement likely caused the collision between two oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz. The Adalynn and Front Eagle tankers collided and caught fire on Tuesday, 24 nautical miles off the UAE coast in the Sea of Oman. Fortunately, there were no injuries to the crew and no oil spillage was reported.

The ministry's statement cited preliminary information and did not connect the incident to recent electronic interference during the conflict between Iran and Israel. The Strait of Hormuz has seen increased disruption to navigation systems since the start of the missile exchanges between the two countries.
