Mold Alexandra Football Club is gearing up for an exciting new season in Cymru North, bolstered by significant signings and the retention of key players. Preparations are already underway, with their first pre-season friendly scheduled this evening against Prestatyn Town.
Gregson and Forbes Join the Ranks
The club has confirmed the permanent acquisition of Lucas Gregson from Connah’s Quay Nomads. Gregson, who impressed during his loan spell last season, netting six goals, will now be a permanent fixture in the Mold Alex squad. Joining him is former Holywell Town striker Dave Forbes, making the switch from Gresford Athletic. Forbes is expected to add considerable firepower to the team's attacking options.
Key Players Remain On Board
Mold Alex can also boast the return of their leading goalscorer, Owen Cordiner, who enjoyed a stellar debut season, scoring 13 league goals after joining last summer. Several other pivotal players, including Morgan Roberts, Aidan Farren, Cynan Edwards, and captain Henry Nash, have also committed to the upcoming season.
Squad Depth and Experience
Rounding out the squad are familiar faces such as Josh Watkin, Jamie Davies, Matty Lewis, Emmanuel Lawal, Craig Rogers, Ryan Coney, and goalkeeper Joe Smith. With a blend of returning talent and fresh acquisitions, Mold Alex aims to build upon their previous successes and mount a strong challenge in Cymru North. The management team, led by boss Barry Owen and assistant Liam Groves, remains unchanged, providing stability and continuity for the club.
The pre-season friendly against Prestatyn Town marks the beginning of their journey, and fans will be eager to see how the new-look squad performs. Mold Alex are looking to build momentum early and make a positive start to the campaign.
