Dortmund Looking for Revenge

Dortmund has lost their last two competitive matches against Juventus. In the Champions League round of 16, Juve won 2-1 and 3-0. Sporting director Sebastian Kehl said: “It's time for us to get some points there. We're going there with a lot of anticipation for this competition.”

In addition to Juventus, Dortmund will face Athletic Bilbao, FC Copenhagen, Manchester City, FC Villarreal, Bodö/Glimt, Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan in the group stage – all opponents who guarantee top-class Champions League matches. The match against Manchester City promises to be particularly explosive. Former BVB star Erling Haaland, who scored 86 goals in 89 games for Dortmund between 2020 and 2022, now plays there.

Kobel Ready for Juventus

After a successful start to the Bundesliga season, Borussia Dortmund is looking forward to their first Champions League game. The duel against Juventus Turin brings back fond memories for the German side.

It was at the end of May 1997 when Borussia Dortmund celebrated the greatest success in the club's history. In Munich, the team, including Swiss striker Stéphane Chapuisat, secured a 3-1 victory against Juventus Turin and thus won the Champions League title. Dortmund was the first German team to win the reformed competition in 1992, and Chapuisat was the first of four Swiss players to lift the trophy.

Since then, the two teams have only met twice in a competitive match. In March 2015, Juventus took revenge with two wins and reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
