Mahomes Reveals All! How Daughter Golden's Birth Didn't Stop Playoff Dreams!

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is opening up about a very special moment in his life: the birth of his daughter, Golden Raye. In a new clip from ESPN's docuseries, "The Kingdom," Mahomes shares how the arrival of his third child with wife Brittany Mahomes felt like perfect timing.

"Brittany crushed it," Mahomes said in the clip, which aired on "Good Morning America." "I was watching playoff games the entire day. She went into labor after one game. Baby was here before the next game, so I didn't even miss a playoff game. So, she is as locked in as I am as far as football goes."

Golden Raye Mahomes was born in January 2025, joining big sister Sterling Skye, 4, and brother Patrick "Bronze" Lavon Mahomes III, 2. Mahomes emphasized how the timing of Golden's birth aligned perfectly with the Chiefs' schedule. He even joked that Brittany is as dedicated to football as he is!

"Golden was born on January 12th, it worked out perfectly,” Patrick said. “We got to bye week, which Brittany had told me that we needed to get from before the season," referencing a week where the Chiefs had no games.

"The Kingdom" offers viewers an inside look at the Kansas City Chiefs' journey, examining the team's 65-year history and modern-day dynasty. The docuseries features Mahomes, his family, and other key players, providing unprecedented access to the team during the 2024 season, where they fought for a "three-peat" championship in Super Bowl LIX.

Cameras followed the team on the field, in the locker room, and beyond, capturing the dedication and passion that drives the Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes' comments about his daughter's birth highlight the importance of family and the ability to balance personal life with professional aspirations, even in the high-pressure world of the NFL.

The six-part series is available on Disney+. It promises an intimate look at the players and coaches who make up the Chiefs organization, offering fans a chance to connect with the team on a deeper level.
