AMC Theatres Cuts Pre-Movie Ads! Here's What's Changing NOW!

Big changes are coming to AMC Theatres! After recently introducing new advertising blocks, AMC is now planning to significantly shorten the pre-movie commercial time. Get ready to head into your films quicker!

Less Ads, More Movie: AMC's New Strategy

In July, AMC began running “platinum spot” commercials alongside the usual film trailers. Now, aiming to enhance the moviegoing experience, the theater chain intends to reduce the pre-show advertising length by approximately “four or five” minutes.

According to reports, AMC is focusing on shortening the standard pre-show segments that remind patrons to silence their cell phones. AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aaron stated, “Those play about four to five minutes in length, and we think we can take two or three minutes out of that.”

Cutting Extra Trailers for a Faster Start

AMC conducted a survey revealing that they screen one more trailer than their competitors. Aaron confirmed the company will eliminate this extra trailer, saving another two to three minutes from the pre-show. This should get you into the film even faster!

More Perks for Moviegoers

Earlier this year, AMC introduced another patron-friendly decision. In May, they announced “Discount Tuesdays” for AMC Stubs members. This perk provides discounts on adult-evening ticket prices at all AMC locations across the U.S.

AMC Stubs, which is free to join, offers a variety of discounts and rewards. Customers can easily join through the AMC mobile app, website, or at their local theater. Enjoy shorter pre-shows and great deals at AMC!
