Angels' Jo Adell's Secret Weapon: A Simple Workout REVOLUTIONIZED His Game!

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jo Adell seems to have unlocked a new level of performance thanks to a focused, extra workout. According to the Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher, Adell spent 30 minutes this week hitting balls off a tee.

“Just kind of got back in my groove,” Adell explained. “I got in there for a reset.”

This “reset” appears to be paying off handsomely. In the first ten days of August, Adell has been crushing the ball. While his overall hit rate is still developing, a staggering four of his six hits since August 1st have been home runs, resulting in an impressive .545 slugging percentage for the month.

“It helped me get comfortable in the box again,” Adell said. “Helped me get more into a groove. It’s always my setup and how I feel in the box.”

Adell previously showcased his potential in June, blasting 11 home runs and achieving an OPS exceeding 1.000, alongside a .293 batting average. This performance ignited All-Star buzz. However, his momentum cooled off in July. After a .663 slugging percentage in June, he only managed a .384 slugging percentage with three homers and a .212 average, prompting the need for a readjustment.

He has become a significant threat at the plate this season. The Angels are undoubtedly hoping that this renewed focus will translate into consistent results throughout the remainder of the season. At 26, Adell surpassed his previous career high of 20 home runs (achieved last season) in July and currently boasts 25 home runs, accomplished in 19 fewer games than in 2024. Furthermore, he has reduced his strikeout rate by three percent compared to last season, which is a promising indicator of future success.

Adell remains under team control for two more seasons after 2025. The Angels are certainly hoping that he will continue to evolve into a star player capable of helping the franchise end their long-standing playoff drought.

Unfortunately, the Angels suffered a loss in the final game of their series against the Detroit Tigers.
