Lynx Edge Out Storm: Diggins Scores 11, But It's Not Enough! 🔥

The Minnesota Lynx defeated the Seattle Storm 91-87 in a tightly contested WNBA matchup. Courtney Williams led the Lynx with 20 points, 14 of which came in the second half. Jessica Shepard contributed a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Kayla McBride sealed the victory with six free throws in the final 30 seconds.

DiJonai Carrington, recently acquired from Dallas, made her Lynx debut, scoring 13 points. McBride finished with 14 points, while Bridget Carleton added 12, all on second-half 3-pointers.

For the Storm, Nneka Ogwumike led the way with 23 points, surpassing Lauren Jackson and DeWanna Bonner for seventh in WNBA history with 140 career 20-point games. Erica Wheeler scored 19, Dominique Malonga had 12, and Skylar Diggins contributed 11 points.

Gabby Williams broke Seattle's single-season steals record with 77, surpassing Natasha Howard's previous mark of 74 in 2019.

The Lynx (25-5) have now won seven of their last eight games. Napheesa Collier missed the game due to a right ankle injury sustained in their previous win against Las Vegas.

Seattle (16-14) has lost three consecutive games and four of their last five. Tiffany Mitchell left the game with an injury after an awkward fall.

Earlier in the day, Seattle traded Alysha Clark, Zia Cooke, and a 2026 first-round pick to Washington for All-Star Brittney Sykes.

The Lynx will host the Mystics on Friday, while the Storm will travel to Las Vegas to face the Aces.
