Blade Enters the Fray in Marvel Rivals Season 3.5
Get ready, Marvel fans! The highly anticipated Season 3.5 of Marvel Rivals, titled "The Abyss Awakens," is set to launch on August 8th, bringing with it a brand new playable hero: Blade, the Daywalker! Developed by NetEase Games, this update promises a thrilling experience with new content and gameplay enhancements.
Blade, classified as a Duelist, will excel in mid-to-close range combat. He utilizes a combination of a shotgun and his signature vampiric sword skills, allowing him to disrupt enemy healing and break through defenses. Players can unleash the legendary Sword of Dracula, transforming Blade into a formidable melee threat capable of dominating clustered enemies. A character reveal trailer showcases Blade's aggressive playstyle, giving players a taste of what's to come.
New Map, Mode, and Team-Up Abilities
Season 3.5 isn't just about Blade. It also introduces the Throne of Knull map, a new battleground tied directly into the game's narrative arc, as the rise of Knull continues to reshape the game world. A new game mode, Resource Rumble, will launch on August 22nd, initially in Quick Match to gather feedback before rolling out to Competitive playlists. This mode will be set on the Throne of Knull map.
Furthermore, the update brings significant changes to Team-Up abilities. Several existing team-ups are being rotated out, while new combinations are being introduced, such as Duality Dance (Adam Warlock – Luna Snow) and Vibrant Vitality (Mantis – Groot/Loki). Existing team-ups are also expanding, with Iron Fist joining Chilling Assault and Star-Lord connecting to Rocket Network. Blade is added to Lunar Force. Loki, meanwhile, is stepping away from Ragnarok Rebirth.
Finally, NetEase is tightening competitive penalties and player protections.
