Get ready for a blast from the past! Arnold Schwarzenegger is making a surprise return to the Predator franchise after nearly four decades. Fans were thrilled to learn about this at San Diego Comic-Con, where director Dan Trachtenberg revealed that Schwarzenegger gave his permission for his likeness to be used in an epilogue scene added to the end of Predator: Killer of Killers.
Dutch Returns (Sort Of)
For those who remember the original 1987 film, Schwarzenegger played Major Alan “Dutch” Schaefer, who battled the extraterrestrial hunter in the jungle. While Schwarzenegger hasn't been in a Predator movie since, his character's legacy has lived on.
The new epilogue scene in Predator: Killer of Killers shows Predator warriors carrying coffins containing the bodies of Dutch, Lt. Mike Harrigan (played by Danny Glover in Predator 2), and Naru (from Prey). This scene is now considered canon to the franchise.
Where to Watch
You can catch Predator: Killer of Killers with the extended Arnold Schwarzenegger ending on Hulu. The movie originally premiered in June 2025, and the new scene was recently added.
- Movie: Predator: Killer of Killers
- Streaming: Hulu
- Featuring: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny Glover, Amber Midthunder
While this return is currently limited to an epilogue scene and the use of his likeness, Trachtenberg hinted at future possibilities, mentioning he's planning to "cook up stuff for that guy" after a recent breakfast meeting with Schwarzenegger. Could we see a full-fledged live-action return of Dutch in the upcoming Predator: Badlands, scheduled for release on November 7th and starring Elle Fanning? Only time will tell!
This news comes after Schwarzenegger recently discussed what he considers the worst film in the Terminator franchise, adding another layer of franchise reflection to the action star's recent activities. Fans are ecstatic about this surprise return and are eagerly awaiting more news about Schwarzenegger's involvement in the Predator universe.
