Brewers' Streak Continues! 11th Win Crushes Mariners 6-0!

SEATTLE (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers are on fire! Brandon Woodruff delivered a stellar performance, pitching six innings of two-hit ball, as the Brewers steamrolled the Seattle Mariners 6-0 on Monday night, securing their 11th consecutive victory.

Woodruff (2-0), in his third start of the season, was incredibly efficient, needing only 62 pitches to navigate through six innings. He allowed just two singles and issued no walks. After missing the entire 2024 season due to shoulder surgery, the Brewers have carefully managed Woodruff's workload since his return on July 6.

George Kirby initially matched Woodruff's dominance, carrying a no-hitter deep into the sixth inning. However, the Brewers' bats exploded in the sixth, as they scored four runs off Kirby (4-5) while sending eight batters to the plate.

Milwaukee added two more runs in the eighth against Mariners' left-hander Brandyn Garcia, who made his MLB debut after being called up from Triple-A Tacoma earlier in the day. With this win, the Brewers (60-40) join the Detroit Tigers as the only teams to reach the 60-win mark this season.

Key Moments in the Brewers' Victory

  • Joey Ortiz's single in the sixth ended Kirby's no-hit bid and sparked the Brewers' offensive surge.
  • William Contreras drove in the game's first run with a sacrifice fly.
  • Christian Yelich and Isaac Collins followed with RBI singles.
  • Jackson Chourio capped off the inning with an RBI double.

The Brewers are now just two wins away from matching the Minnesota Twins' 13-game winning streak, the longest in the majors this season (May 3-19).

Looking Ahead

Brewers All-Star rookie Jacob Misiorowski (4-1, 2.81) is set to start the second game of the series against the Mariners' Logan Gilbert (2-3, 3.39). Will the Brewers continue their winning streak?
