Tennis superstar Naomi Osaka has just unveiled a brand new colorway of the Nike GP Challenge 1 tennis shoe, just in time for the North American hard court season! While her results this season haven't been consistently stellar, Osaka's style game remains undefeated.
Osaka took to Instagram to showcase the eye-catching design, captioning the post with "hard court szn but make it cute [pink heart emoji]." The new colorway features a striking combination of two shades of blue on the mesh upper, beautifully contrasted by University Gold overlays and midsoles. A pop of color is added with vibrant pink laces and outsoles.
The most unique detail? Iridescent Nike Swoosh logos on the sides incorporate Japanese words, adding a personal touch and cultural flair. Osaka's signature logo is prominently displayed on the tongues.
While release information is currently unavailable, the Nike GP Challenge 1 is already available in other styles on Nike.com, priced between $145 and $170. This shoe is designed for aspiring champions, featuring Air Zoom units, a strong midfoot plastic plate, and extra rubber for high abrasion to help players dominate on the court.
Although Osaka doesn't have a signature shoe, she's the face of the Nike GP Challenge 1, and her player-exclusive colorways are highly coveted by tennis players and fans alike. Osaka's partnership with Nike, which began in 2019, is a lucrative deal worth $10 million annually, running through 2025.
