Charlie Woods Competes in U.S. Junior Amateur!
The U.S. Junior Amateur Championship is set to begin on July 21st in Dallas, Texas, featuring a field of 264 talented young golfers. Among them are three players representing Palm Beach County: Charlie Woods, Wylie Inman, and Cameron Kuchar. This prestigious tournament, hosted at Trinity Forest Golf Club and Brook Hollow Golf Club, promises exciting competition as these rising stars vie for the national title.
The tournament format begins with two rounds of stroke play, after which the field will be cut to the top 64 players. These players will then compete in match play rounds at Trinity Forest, culminating in the final match on July 26th. The U.S. Junior Amateur boasts a rich history, with past champions including current world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler (2013), Jordan Spieth (2009, 2011), and the legendary Tiger Woods (1991, 1992, 1993).
Woods, Inman, and Kuchar Represent Palm Beach County
Charlie Woods, a rising junior at the Benjamin School and the son of Tiger Woods, is competing in the U.S. Junior Amateur for the second consecutive year. He'll begin his first round on No. 10 at Brook Hollow at 2:03 p.m. on July 21st, and his second round on No. 1 at Trinity Forest at 8:43 a.m. on July 22nd. He is paired with William Long and Michael Riebe for both rounds.
Wylie Inman, a rising senior at Dwyer High School, is making his debut at the tournament. He'll start his first round off No. 10 at Trinity Forest at 2:14 p.m. on July 21st, and his second round off No. 1 at Brook Hollow at 8:54 a.m. on July 22nd. His playing partners are Stephen Eastman and Jaxson Hinze.
Cameron Kuchar, a rising senior at Jupiter High School and the son of PGA Tour veteran Matt Kuchar, is also set to make his first appearance at the U.S. Junior Amateur.
