Today Show's Dylan Dreyer Shares Heartbreaking Sheinelle Jones Update

NBC's Dylan Dreyer has offered a touching update on her Today show colleague, Sheinelle Jones, following the loss of her husband, Uche Ojeh. Jones has been absent from the show since December 2024, initially citing a 'family health matter.' It was later revealed that Ojeh had passed away in May after battling an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Speaking at the 2025 American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament, Dreyer shared that Jones is currently focused on her role as a mother to her three young children: son Kayin, and twins Clara and Uche Jr. 'She’s in mom mode right now,' Dreyer told Access Hollywood. 'She has three young kids that she has to care for. It’s a really tough time for the family.'

Dreyer emphasized the strong support system within the Today show family. 'We are all there to support her in any way we can,' she stated. 'She’s just taking the time she needs to spend with those kids. I can’t even imagine what they’re going through, what she’s going through, and she’s just being strong for them.'

The meteorologist also highlighted the close bond shared among the Today show hosts, describing it as 'like a family.' She recounted instances of support and encouragement, mentioning Al Roker's thoughtful handwritten letters. 'It really, really is like a family. We call each other all the time,' Dreyer said.

The Today show team continues to rally around Sheinelle Jones during this difficult time, offering their unwavering support and understanding as she navigates her grief and focuses on her children.
