NAHCON Commends Healthcare for Nigerian Pilgrims at Hajj 2025
A high-level delegation from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) recently completed an inspection tour of medical clinics and outposts in Mecca. Led by Professor Abubakar Yagawal, the tour aimed to assess the quality of healthcare services provided to Nigerian pilgrims during the upcoming 2025 Hajj.
The delegation visited several key facilities, including the Shari’ Sittin Clinic, Misfalah Clinic, Kano State Medical Outpost, and Niger State Medical Outpost. During these visits, clinic heads provided detailed tours, showcasing treatment wards and pharmacy units. Medical staff reported treating various conditions, from flu and chest infections to hypertension and diabetes-related complications. A notable case of cardiac arrest was successfully managed.
While most cases were resolved effectively, the clinics did, unfortunately, record some mortality cases. NAHCON is committed to continuous improvement in healthcare delivery to ensure the well-being of all pilgrims.
Hira Cultural Visit: An Emotional and Uplifting Experience
Separately, the Chairman and CEO of NAHCON, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, described a recent visit to the Hira Cultural District in Mecca as a deeply emotional and spiritually uplifting experience. The district, home to the Cave of Hira where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) received the first verses of the Holy Qur’an, offered a unique opportunity for the Nigerian delegation to connect with Islamic history.
Professor Usman emphasized the profound importance of retracing the steps of the prophets. He noted the emotional impact the visit had on the Nigerian pilgrims, believing they will return home with lasting memories and renewed spiritual inspiration.
The visit was facilitated by Mashaariq Al-Dhabia Company, allowing the NAHCON delegation to explore the area near the Cave of Hira. The Chairman reflected on the Prophet's devotion, sharing how the Prophet used to climb the steep path alone, spending nights in worship and reflection.
