Michael Douglas and Son Reunite in 'Looking Through Water': Summer Release

Michael Douglas is teaming up with his real-life son, Cameron Douglas, for a new film! Good Deed Entertainment has secured the domestic rights to Looking Through Water, a family drama slated for a late summer theatrical release. The Hollywood Reporter exclusively broke the news.

Directed by Roberto Sneider, Looking Through Water also features Walker Scobell, David Morse, Michael Stahl-David, Ximena Romo, and Tamara Tunie. The movie explores the relationship between a father and his estranged son as they participate in a father-son fishing competition, aiming to rebuild their bond.

The Story Behind the Film

Sneider, known for Tear This Heart Out, directed the film from a screenplay penned by Rowdy Herrington (director of the original Road House) and Zach Dean (Fast X). The project, originating from Aeth Entertainment, is based on Bob Rich's novels Catching Big Fish and Looking Through Water, with Rich serving as executive producer.

Production Details

Robert Mitas, Stan Spry, Carla Woods, and Eric Woods are credited as producers. Elisabeth Costa de Beauregard Segel of Storyboard Media executive produces and handles worldwide sales. The deal was negotiated by Costa de Beauregard Segel and Carla Woods. The film was previously titled Blood Knot.
