Get ready for more espionage and dark humor! Apple TV+ has unveiled a first look at season five of the Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning spy drama, 'Slow Horses,' starring Academy Award winner Gary Oldman. The six-episode season premieres globally on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, with new episodes dropping weekly until October 29, 2025.
Jackson Lamb Returns: Grouchy, Brilliant, and Hilarious
Gary Oldman returns as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but cantankerous leader of Slough House. Lamb oversees a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents exiled to the dumping ground department of MI5, known as Slough House. Oldman has received Golden Globe, Emmy, and BAFTA Award nominations for his performance, proving his talent shines in the role.
Oldman describes the experience working on the show as extraordinary. "We often laugh actually, while we're doing it. We crack up and then and do retakes," he told Gold Derby. "It's been an extraordinary show to work on, not only because the material is very good and obviously the character is just a dream. But it's been really made all the more special because of the people working on the show."
Season 5: What's the Mystery?
Adapted from “London Rules,” the next novel in Mick Herron’s acclaimed “Slough House” book series, season five promises more twists and turns. When Roddy Ho, the resident tech nerd, suddenly has a glamorous new girlfriend, suspicion arises. As bizarre events unfold across London, the Slow Horses must unravel the connections and uncover the truth. As Lamb knows, the London Rules always apply: cover your back!

Joining Gary Oldman is a talented ensemble cast including Academy Award nominee Kristin Scott Thomas, Emmy Award nominee Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Ruth Bradley, James Callis, Tom Brooke and Academy Award nominee Jonathan Pryce.
