The 2025 Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala promises a star-studded evening with a lineup of talented performers and presenters. Among those gracing the stage on Thursday, June 12th, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City, is actor and musician John Stamos.
Stamos, known for his roles in television hits like "Full House" and "ER", has a connection to one of this year's honorees: Mike Love of The Beach Boys. Stamos has performed with The Beach Boys, bringing his musical talent to their iconic sound. His presence at the gala adds another layer of entertainment and celebration to the event.
The gala will also feature performances and presentations by other notable names in the music industry. Dan + Shay, who have collaborated on major country hits with honoree Ashley Gorley, will also be performing. Aaron Dessner, a frequent collaborator and producer for Gracie Abrams, who is receiving The Hal David Starlight Award, will be present as well. Alan Menken, a long-time collaborator with Stephen Schwartz, recipient of the Johnny Mercer Award, will also contribute to the evening's festivities.
A Family Affair
Adding a personal touch to the evening, children of some of the honorees will also be involved. Ashley Gorley's daughter, Sadie, and Rodney Jerkins' children, Heavenly, Hannah Joy, and Rodney Jerkins Jr., are slated to participate, making the gala a true celebration of songwriting talent across generations.
This year's Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees include George Clinton; Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald and Patrick Simmons (of The Doobie Brothers); Ashley Gorley; Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins; Mike Love; and Tony Macaulay. The gala promises to be a night of memorable performances, heartfelt tributes, and recognition of the individuals who have shaped the landscape of popular music.
The event recognizes not only the legacy of songwriting but also celebrates the future with the Hal David Starlight Award presented to Gracie Abrams, acknowledging her significant impact on the music industry.
