Sydney Sweeney's Extreme Transformation for Christy Martin Biopic

Sydney Sweeney has revealed the intense physical transformation she underwent to portray legendary female boxer Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic. The actress gained over 30 pounds and dedicated herself to a rigorous training schedule to embody the pioneering athlete.

Sweeney's Dedication to the Role

In a recent cover story for W Magazine, Sweeney detailed her commitment to the role, explaining that she had just over three months to prepare. Her training regimen was brutal, consisting of:

  • An hour of weight training in the morning
  • Two hours of kickboxing midday
  • Another hour of weight training in the evening

She also significantly increased her food intake to fuel her body and gain weight.

Physical Changes and Impact

Sweeney described the dramatic changes to her physique. "My body was completely different,” she said. “I didn’t fit in any of my clothes. I’m usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27. My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy! I was like, ‘Oh my god’ … But it was amazing: I was so strong, like crazy strong.”

Rapid Weight Loss for Euphoria

Interestingly, Sweeney revealed that she had to lose the weight quickly – in just seven weeks – to resume her role as Cassie in the new season of HBO's hit series, Euphoria. This further highlights the dedication and discipline she possesses as an actress.

Biopic Details Still Under Wraps

While the film, directed by David Michôd, is highly anticipated, a proper title and official release date are yet to be announced. Fans are eagerly awaiting more news about this promising project and Sweeney's portrayal of the boxing icon.

Sweeney's recent headlines also include a unique collaboration with Dr. Squatch soap.
