Spike Lee to Receive Legend of Cinema Award at SCAD Film Fest!

The SCAD Savannah Film Festival is gearing up for its 2025 edition, and the lineup of honorees just got even more impressive! Spike Lee, the acclaimed writer and director known for his groundbreaking films, will be honored with the Legend of Cinema Award. The festival, renowned as the largest university-run film festival in the nation, is set to take place from October 25th to November 1st.

A Star-Studded Affair

Lee joins a distinguished group of honorees including Park Chan-wook, Brendan Fraser, Amanda Seyfried, Kristen Stewart, and Sydney Sweeney. The festival will also feature screenings of highly anticipated films such as "Eternity," "Song Sung Blue," and "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery." "Eternity," directed by David Freyne and starring Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller, and Callum Turner, will open the festival. Teller will receive the Distinguished Performance Award.

More Honorees Announced

Other previously announced honorees include Will Arnett, Hannah Beachler, Craig Brewer, Rose Byrne, Miles Caton, Jon M. Chu, and Zoey Deutch. Entertainment Weekly will also present its Breaking Big honorees, including Julia Butters, Tati Gabrielle, Tonatiuh, Grace Van Patten, and Tyriq Withers.
