Fetterman's Approval PLUMMETS! PA Dems DUMP Senator?

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman, a Democrat, is facing a dramatic shift in approval ratings within his home state. A new Quinnipiac University poll reveals a significant decline in support from Pennsylvania Democrats, while simultaneously experiencing a surge in approval from Republicans.

Democratic Support Collapses

The poll indicates that only 33% of Pennsylvania Democrats approve of Fetterman's job performance, a stark contrast to the 80% approval rating he enjoyed last year. A concerning 54% of Democrats now disapprove of the senator. This nosedive in popularity suggests growing dissatisfaction among his core constituency.

Republicans Embrace Fetterman

Conversely, Fetterman is gaining traction with Republicans in Pennsylvania. 62% of Republicans now approve of his performance, a substantial increase from the 16% approval rating he held last year. This shift suggests that Fetterman's recent policy positions and public statements are resonating with Republican voters.

Why the Sudden Shift?

The reasons behind this dramatic change in approval are likely multifaceted. Fetterman has occasionally broken with party lines, particularly on issues such as border security and his unwavering support for Israel. These stances have drawn criticism from some Democrats while appealing to more conservative voters.

This decline in support could open the door for primary challengers and complicate his potential reelection bid in 2028, further exposing the ideological divides within the Democratic Party in a crucial swing state. Independent voters remain split, mirroring their stance from a year ago.

The Quinnipiac University poll surveyed 1,579 registered Pennsylvania voters between September 25th and 29th, with a margin of error of 3.3%.
