Frank Grillo Spills! Working With Stallone on 'Tulsa King' REVEALED!

Frank Grillo, star of the hit series 'Tulsa King,' has opened up about his experience working alongside action icon Sylvester Stallone. Grillo, who joined the cast in Season 2 as Bill Bevilaqua, has become a central figure in the show, which continues to gain global popularity thanks to Taylor Sheridan's writing.

In a recent panel at FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention, moderated by Collider’s Maggie Lovitt, Grillo shared his thoughts on working with Stallone. He emphasized Stallone's enduring passion and generosity. "There’s a passion, at 79, that he still carries for the work, and a generosity," Grillo said. "He understands who he is and what effect he has on people, especially actors, but his generosity as a fellow actor is true immediately in a place where he’s making you better, you know what I mean?"

While Stallone's popularity might have shifted with younger audiences, his status as an action legend remains undisputed. For actors like Grillo, the opportunity to collaborate with Stallone is a career highlight. Grillo added that Stallone creates an environment where you can "be yourself [around him], and creative." He concluded, "I can’t say enough great things about this guy; he’s a really amazing individual." The crowd responded with enthusiastic applause.

But Grillo isn't just shining in 'Tulsa King.' He's also making waves in the new DC Universe under James Gunn, taking on the role of Rick Flag Sr., the father of the late Rick Flag Jr. (played by Joel Kinnaman). He will also be headlining the first DCU series, 'Creature Commandos.' Dana Delany and Kevin Pollak have also chimed in on working with Stallone on 'Tulsa King', noting how the series differs from their past projects.

What Makes 'Tulsa King' Unique?

Delany and Pollak shared insights into what makes 'Tulsa King' stand out. They also hinted at potential spin-off ideas, showcasing the creative energy surrounding the show and its stars. The combination of Sheridan's storytelling and the cast's chemistry, particularly Grillo and Stallone, is clearly a winning formula.
