Olbermann's Threat to Jennings: CNN Pundit Alerts FBI!

Former ESPN and MSNBC host Keith Olbermann is facing backlash after directing a threatening message towards CNN political commentator Scott Jennings on social media. The since-deleted posts, captured by Townhall columnist Dustin Grage, have ignited a firestorm of controversy.

The Incendiary Posts

In the now-deleted posts, Olbermann wrote, "You’re next motherf---er. But keep mugging for the camera." This message was sent nearly two weeks after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist, at an event on the campus of Utah Valley University.

Jennings, interpreting the message as a potential threat, tagged FBI Director Kash Patel in a response to Grage’s post on X (formerly Twitter).

Context of the Controversy

Olbermann's outburst appears to stem from Disney's decision to reinstate Jimmy Kimmel's ABC show after a brief suspension. Kimmel's suspension followed remarks he made regarding Kirk's assassination. Olbermann seemed to clarify his initial statement in a subsequent post, stating, "Now we get the fascists off real tv. That'd mean your career is next, Jennings. Send a tape to Real America's Voice. But keep mugging to camera, amateur."

Backlash and Previous Controversies

This isn't the first time Olbermann has faced criticism for his social media activity. He recently received significant backlash for controversial posts regarding Kirk and Kimmel. He also slighted Sinclair Broadcast Group after it was announced that several of their TV affiliates would preempt Kimmel’s show, writing, "Burn in hell, Sinclair. Alongside Char."

The situation continues to develop as Jennings has brought the matter to the attention of the FBI, raising concerns about the nature and intent of Olbermann's comments.
