Shelter-in-Place Order Issued
The Will County Sheriff's Office issued the shelter-in-place order for the immediate vicinity of Harlem Avenue and Vollmer Road in Frankfort Square. Residents were urged to remain indoors with their doors locked as officers actively searched the area.
The Village of Tinley Park also issued an alert, confirming that police were assisting Matteson Police in the search for five men dressed in black clothing who were believed to be armed with handguns. According to reports, the suspects fled on foot westward after the vehicle they were in crashed.
